Description: This Sterling spoon is from the 1893 Columbia exposition in Chicago. On the handle are the following pictures in raised detail; a bust of Columbus wearing a hat, under that is a collage of a pen, inkwell, books, a globe and a scroll. Also, the words Colombian Exhibition are on the handle. The back of the gold washed bowl has the name Alice and date ‘92 engraved. Raised relief picture of Columbus and 3 other Explorers in the bowl and the word/date Columbus 1492. The back of the handle has one of Columbus‘s ships and an anchor. The back is marked Sterling and has the makers name if Tilden, Thurber & Co. Good condition with minor scratches and tarnish. (S408 location).
