Description: 1889 Towle Mfg "Shell II" heavy silverplate set of 6 table forks (7.5" long). Founded in 1857, Towle Silversmiths produced high quality American silverplate and sterling flatware and holloware. Its "Shell II" was inspired by late Victorian revival of 18th century Georgian sea design elements. The curved end handle has a subtle cursive "D" monogram that appears more decorative than declarative of a letter. Great value of $6 each per antique fork. The set has nice weight and is in good antique condition commensurate with its late 19th-century age.
