Description: Up for your consideration is a extremely rare staffordshire antique victorian aesthetic period wallis gimson & co floris ligna brown transferware teapot and biscuit jar set of 2 pieces .Registry mark dates them to 1883 .Wonderful classic crazy quilt style classic aesthetic pattern .These have the very rare hard to find sought after bat in the pattern with the full bat on the teapot and partial on the bottom of the jar .Quite a rare find !!! They only have the registry mark and no company mark but the rosette finial detail and shape identify it as wallis gimson .Teapot is 8 1/8 inches tall by 8 5/8 handle to spout by 4 ½ wide.Biscuit is 6 ¾ tall by 6 5/8 handle to handle .There is a small chip on the inside lip edge of the teapot -2 small glaze flakes inside -a factory glazing error on inside of spout (not crack) -small flake on teapot spout-and a few very tight hairlines on both. While I do like to point out even the most minute detail that might be considered a flaw, that being said these are in overall excellent condition otherwise considering they are almost 140 years old !! Great fresh recent fine estate find I research every item I sell extensively to provide the most accurate description possible and to meticulously point out any flaws .While I do have extensive knowledge in many antique and vintage categories I am not a expert in all and do make mistakes on occasion .If there is a problem with your item or something is not what you expected please contact me before posting feedback so I can make it right :-)
