Description: The 1879 Carson City Morgan Dollar is one of 4 mints that produced this silver dollar. There was a very low mintage of just 750,000 of a total production this year of approximately 27 million. Hence it is considered to be quite rare. This particular coin was unearthed as part of an estate and was most probably obtained by a relative on a visit to the United States in 1922 following completion of a medical degree.
