Edited by librarian George Bullen. The book catalogues the various antiques and curiosities from a exhibition in South Kensington, related William Caxton. The volume contains a comprehensive list of the object and artifacts, and from who they have been borrowed from William Caxton was a merchant, diplomat, writer and printer. He is believed to be the first person to introduce the printing press to England, around 1476. He was then the first English retailer of printed books. Previous owners bookplate to the front pastedown, reads 'HYS'. CONDITION In half leather binding with marbled board. Externally sound. Rubbing to the spines and to the joints. Small amount of loss to the extremities, due to rubbing. Slight rubbing to the front and rear boards. Tidemarks to the front and rear endpapers and pastedowns. Previous owners bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound. Slightly strained in places, but still firm. Pages are generally bright and clean.
