Overall an excellent collection of Clarke's work all here bound in one. One of a kind book with all original pamphlets scarce. At the time of listing there are no auction records found for these individual works in the last 100 years. First Editions. [Henry] Hyde Clark (1815-1895), engineer, editor of the Railway Register, author, Honorary Freeman for the British Association for Advancement of Science. He was expelled from the Anthropological Society of London in 1868 for public allegations of mismanagement of that body. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society in 1876. Well known Freemason, best known for his work on the British colony at Smyrna, which originally appeared in the Levant Herald in 1860. Clarke was a correspondent of Charles Darwin. Philology.
