With copious tables of commission or brokerage, from one-eighth to ten per cent. accommodated with a new time table. This is a printed aid, useful in business transactions, containing tables of precalculated results. This is the 27th Edition, published in 1863. It was published by Virtue Brothers & Co., 1, Amen Corner, Paternoster Row, London and printed by James S. Virtue, City Road, London. The tables were first published in about 1831. There is no dust jacket. This is in a quarter-bound leather spine, with leather corners and cloth bound textured boards. The stunning spine is panelled, with gilt lines (not raised), and gilt lettering. The cover is robust, intact, and in a good condition for a book that is 160 years old. The boards do, however, have some wear, more-so to the edges, corners, and spine, small or light marks, and bumping to the corners. There are also patches of fading to both the cloth and the leather. Please see the photographs which I have provided for further reference. Inside, the pages are tanned, which is consistent with the age of the book. There is light foxing on the endpapers and light stains and light marks on the title page. There are small ink spots on the page edges, visible when the book is closed. Besides this, the pages are in an overall neat and clean condition for their age, with only very occasional small marks, small creases, or patches of tanning. There are no rips to the pages. On the front pastedown and the front free endpaper there are pen inscriptions, which state “James Fenton, Mill Manager, Heywood” and the dates of “June 1874” and “1874”. There is also a small ink mark on the page containing “153 days”, a further ink mark on the page containing “294 days”, and small ink marks on the two pages for 346 days. All are shown in the photographs provided. There are no further pen or pencil marks inside this book. Between the pastedowns and the free endpapers there are cracks to the gutter, but the main textblock is tightly bound and the pages are all secure. The pages are not numbered, but they appear to all be present and have been checked. Please study the photos carefully as to the condition of this book, as they do form part of the description. This measures approximately 21.5 cm by 14.3 cm and a width of 6 cm. It weighs approximately 1,276 grams. Thank you so much for looking.
