Description: 1861 stampless cover from Fort Snelling, MN to Vermont. Black CDS and paid. STENCIL military address of Geo. W. Brookins, Co. I, 3rd Reg. M.V. (minnesota volunteers); this was right before the unit was sent to Kentucky; the entire regiment was captured at Murfreesboro. Brookins' letters are well known and in institutions.
