The map is hand coloured, printed on one side only and measures 35 cm x 25 cm or 13" x 10". If you have any questions or would like to see more photographs then please do not hesitate to ask. This interesting map is an original antique which is over 170 years old. John Dower (1825-1901) was a British mapmaker and publisher. He was the son of John Crane Dower, a well-known engraver and mapmaker. John Dower continued his father's work and became a successful mapmaker in his own right. He worked with many prominent map publishers of the time, including Petermann, Weller, Cassell, and Bacon. He was also a member of the Royal Geographical Society. John Dower's maps are known for their accuracy and detail. He produced maps of various regions, including Europe, Africa, and Asia. He also published several atlases and school geographies.
