Description: A STUNNING quilt from France ~ this quilt uses a gorgeous printed cotton with purple and pink floral design on one side. The fabric dates c 1860 . The side edges are dripping in the most wonderful hand made, wonderfully valuable , French passementerie trim, dating c 1820 in white cotton ~ This trim is a very rare find ~ This quilt would be ideal for taking apart and using the parts for many projects! Ive had to leave this quilt is in as found, unwashed condition as I was pretty sure if I washed it, the backing would run on to the front and the trim! So, it can be dry cleaned or taken apart ~ The purple fabric is very grubby, with dirt marks all around ( please see photographs). The backing has holes , there is a thick wool batting between the layers ~ ideal for creative hands! ( EQ 12122 ) MEASUREMENTS : This lovely textile measures approx. 60 inches by approx. 71 inches CONDITION: This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition ~ Please see above and photographs for condition details ( condition reflected in the price)
