Highly decorated with gold on front, spine and rear. All gold edges are worn. The gold is dulled and has some loss. The cloth is soiled, old water damage, dark stains, etc. Corners nearly worn through. Interior has some staining. Presentation copy from husband to wife, 1847. Later pencil ownership to second fly leaf. Interesting period human hair? bookmark. Tissue guards have some damage. Foxing. A few pencil notations in text.
