M. Dusenbery Publisher: James A. Bill, PhiladelphiaPublication Date: 1848Condition: Good ITEM DESCRIPTION Today we are pleased to offer this nicely preserved volume on the life and death of Andrew Jackson! A great find from a local New England estate! This scarce antique volume is over 176 years old! In fantastic condition overall! Tight and square! Original publisher gilt-decorated cloth binding shows just light wear, including some rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, some sunning to the spine, some general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and spine extremes, and some rubbing and soiling to the page edges. Otherwise this is an attractive, well-preserved antique volume! Gilt title lettering to the spine still displays nicely from the shelf and the gilt illustrated front board shines brightly! Internally, this volume is in great shape as well. Both boards and all page groupings remain firmly attached to the binding. Former owner’s signature dated 1847 visible on front free endpaper. Otherwise clean and free from bookplates, inscriptions and library markings. The text block of this volume is very clean overall. There is typical age-related toning to the pages, some minor edge wear, and some light scattered foxing and soiling, but otherwise this volume is clean and free from rips, tears, writing and markings. Perfectly readable throughout! Nicely illustrated with a frontispiece portrait. Make sure to see the additional photos in the description below for a thorough look through this antique tome. 416 pages.
