Description: This beautiful large ladle is by 1847 Rogers Bros. It is antique and the pattern is called Ancestral. It is engraved with a "D" on the handle. The design has an Art Deco vibe. The spoon was made in 1924 based on research. The brand 1847 Rogers Bros. wildly has nothing to do with 1847 well it might to the owners at the time, but the formation of the company and production was in 1862 and anything with this mark was produced from that date forward. So dating the piece has more to do with additional hallmarks on the piece if there are any and finding the pattern. As luck would have it an add for the same design popped up in a hallmark site I was searching through so from there on dating was easy. Lucky me. This is silverplated. And a has a great shape and design. It was tarnished in the pictures but I did polish it a little with a soft cloth and it came up beautifully. I'll add some more pictures shortly.
