1840 French 18K Gold Cloisonné Enamels Vinaigrette Chatelain Book Quran Scroll

Description: Hello dear customers, offered here is an authentic antique from circa 1840's. French scent vinaigrette gold chatelain pendant. Absolutely very rare vinaigrette shaped as a book with cloisonné enamel decoration. Featuring gold chain in enamel decoration and loop. This exquisite piece is hand pained on enamel in centre with Arabesque Islamic scroll calligraphy. Written with Quran slogans at one side Allah is ''Most Powerful'' and on the other side ''Most Merciful''. The style became fashioned in France after colonisation in North Africa Algeria 1830, later called Morocco-ware style. The enamel stained in pink, turquoise, copper red, and green, black colors that responding to the Arabic culture and traditions. Inside with floral ornaments on hinged grill fully and engraved. The vinaigrettes are very rare and highly collectible, this one very much unique in my opinion. It is marked for gold on the edge cof compatment with ram head gold mark and on the glrill at side. It is excellent preserved for its age no chips or damages on enamel only micro surface scratches visible with very strong magnifier. That only contribute the authenticity. Recently inspected by profession goldsmith. Found at estate sale in Paris, not sure for its exactly history other than it came from an estate of a world traveler and antiques collector. Measures: 1.25'' x 1''the chain: 5.25'' long with the loop.weight: 17.55r1''=25.4mm.
