The Northern Tourist contains views of lake and mountain scenery in Westmorland, Cumberland, Durham and Northumberland, with historical and topographical descriptions by Thomas Rose. Volume one, 1834, contains seventy-three views including a vignette title page. Volume two, 1835, also has seventy three views, including a frontispiece. With seventy one views of seventy three to volume three, 1836, missing two views.Collated. CONDITION In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart with the spines missing and some marks to the boards. Previous owner inscription to the front free endpaper of all three volumes. Front hinge starting to all three, but remain firm. Internally, generally firmly bound with generally bright pages with some scattered spots throughout.
