Edward Hyde Greg (1827-1910) was the grandson of Samuel Greg (1758-1834) who built Quarry Bank Mill, which came to become the largest textile mill in the country. Quarry Bank Mill (also known as Styal Mill) in Styal, Cheshire, England, is one of the best preserved textile factories of the Industrial Revolution. Built in 1784, the cotton mill is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. The mill was notable for innovations both in machinery and also in its approach to labor relations, the latter largely as a result of the work of Greg's wife, Hannah Lightbody. Edward Hyde Greg was the son of Robert Hyde Greg (1795-1875) who joined his father, Samuel Greg's, textile manufacturing enterprise and introduced weaving. A family line of rich history, which can still be research and enjoyed today. English history - presents well. COLI1833AFGB11/23 - HK957
