Please see photos. Eleazar T. Fitch (1791-1871) was was Livingston Professor of Divinity at Yale College from 1817 to 1852. One of his main duties while serving at Yale was to preach regularly to the student body. This pamphlet is from a sermon given in 1826 in which Fitch discussed the nature of sin. He defined sin as an act of a moral figure in violation of some "known rule of duty". In the second discourse, Fitch considered the causes of a sinful determination in human nature. Overall, this pamphlet is a concise history into the theology of sin taught to students in the early 19th century. COLPAP-0966-RT80
