Description: I have here for sale a book containing two works entitled:1) CHILDE HAROLD'S PILGRIMAGE CANTO THE THIRD by LORD BYRON published by John Murray, London, in 1816, First edition; bound with 2) CHILDE HAROLD'S PILGRIMAGE CANTO THE FOURTH by LORD BYRON published by John Murray, London, in 1818, first edition. Lord Byron's long narrative poem in four parts was published between 1812 and 1818 and was a widely influential work. Notes for both cantos are included.Tan marbled leather boards with the front board almost detached. Wear to the corners and edges. Gilt lettering, bands and decoration on the spine. Minor tears to the leather on the spine with cracks along the hinges. Light foxing to endpapers and pages. All pages are firm and the book is in very good internal condition. Canto the Third: 79 pages plus a one page advert. Canto the Fourth, Notes, and Poems: xiv, 257 pages plus 2 pages adverts. 21.5 cm x 13.5 cm.
