With a frontispiece to each volume. Published in Italian. Following a speech on teaching literature to youth by the eighteenth century Italian professor Girolmo Tagliazucchi, the volumes also include deliberative speeches, judicial writings, sermons, and letters by authors including Alberto Lollio, Torquato Tasso, and Segneri. CONDITION In a contemporary full calf binding. Externally, generally smart, except for the first volume where the front board is detached. Lightly rubbed to the boards and the spine, with some light bumping to the extremities. There are a couple of scuffs to the leather at the rear board of Volume I, and an inch-long tear in the calf to the front joint of volume II. The spine label to volume III is lifting, whilst the green numbers are lacking to the latter two volumes. The front hinge of volume II is starting, but firm. Aside from some age-toning to the front and rear of the volumes, pages are generally bright and clean.
