Description: I got this from an elderly woman that Said years and years ago she owned a home in New England. I think she said Mass. And that she loved that old house. She said when they did work on the house she saved this downspout and loved it. I happened across her very small yard sale. 3 items. This was one them. Her face lit when I squealed and said this is a down spout ..ans its early. She was so pleased I knew what it was I said this is folk art she agreed ans said she saved it because it was wonderful. The star applied and the rosettes. The metal is rusty but it's not britle ans I can press it and its solid. The board it was on is still on the back and the square nails can be seen. It's early early I believe. If it could talk it would. Its a great historical example. I have bought lots ans lots though the years and this type stuff comes in the most unexpected but less ans less do we find it. So I have a small place ans I think it's best to let the folkart spout find a home ..as.an example of early design and fun
