Description: Here's a real nice olive green blackglass early pontiled fruit jar or storage jar made in the late 1700s or early 1800 period.......It was free blown, so there are no mold seams ....slightly rough pontil scar on bottom.....crude slightly flared rim....olive green.....10 1/2"tall x 4 1/4"round.....4"across rim......Excellent shiny nice condition with no chips or damage. A nice clean jar. Some normal light old wear on bottom surface. This was a popular style of storage jar in the 1700s. It would have been sealed with either a glass ball, a large cork or wood plug sealed with wax. Guaranteed authentic and over 200 years old. It came from an old New England collection.
