Description: I have here for sale a collection of twenty one eighteenth century books entitled A COLLECTION OF THE PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES IN ENGLAND FROM THE YEAR MDCLXVIII TO THE PRESENT TIME. Printed in Dublin by John Torbuck in the years 1739 to 1742. Volumes I-XXI. Volume III is dated 1739; Volumes IX, XIII and XV are dated 1740; Volumes XIX, XX and XXI are dated 1742. All the rest of the volumes are dated 1741. Lots of great contemporary historical stuff covering the reigns of Charles II, his brother James II, Titus Oates and the Popish Plot, the Glorious Revolution, the Abdication (if that is how you describe it) or the Invasion (if that is how you describe it), William and Mary, Marlborough, etc. The books are fully bound in brown leather with five raised bands. Gilt lining to the edges of the boards, Faded spines. One of the books, vol 21, is missing its front board, and volume XIX has detached boards - but the other 19 volumes are in good condition. 22 cm x 140 cm. If you buy more than one item then the postage cost falls for the second and further items as I will put them into one parcel - so you save money.
