Collates complete [16], 8,17-368, [1], [ccclxii-ccclxviii], 369-591, [7], 598-651, [25]p. Four engraved plates present, lacks the portrait to the title only. A good, clean and solid copy in the main. Minimal light marks, blemishes or light reading wear else a nice copy presented in a contemporary binding. With a manuscript notation to the FEP ‘L.Stephens, the gift of Tho. Seale, M.A. Rector of Great Somerford, Wilts. 1769.’ Thomas Seale. Fellow of Jesus College, Oxford, 1722/3. Ordained Deacon in 1722 and Priest in 1723. Served as the Rector at Great Somerford in Wiltshire from 1728 until his death in 1771. Bound in full contemporary calf. Blind tooled border with gilt lines to the boards. Raised bands and gilt lines to the spine, with a gilt lettered label. Some rubbing or wear to the edges and corners. Occasional small patches of leather loss and with the leather wear to the top and tail of the spine. An otherwise solid and attractive binding.
