Description: I need to clear some space on my shelves, so I have to part with some of my collection. A bomber sitting on a shelf is fine, but an airfield diorama can really tell a story. This remarkable set contains everything you need to create a realistic pre-flight scene with any of your WWII RAF bombers. You get several vehicles (car, truck and motorcycle) and tractors, along with a portable maintenance tower, 450 gallon fuel bowser, ladder, chocks, fuel cans, bomb trolleys and, of course, tons of bombs to prep your bomber for the next mission. There are dozens of listings for this kit on eBay (mostly from Europe), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this to you very quickly. Here is some of the info I found from around the web about this fabulous kit: The Airfix site (uk.airfix.com) has a very nice page for this kit. They show the box art and six photos of a professionally finished diorama display of this set. In addition, I found the following information: As the air war over occupied Europe progressively developed, so did the equipment used by the RAF and its Bomber Command. Specialist vehicles were introduced to supply arms and equipment to waiting machines and maintenance tasks were made easier through the introduction of specialised equipment. The mechanization of these tasks and duties is well represented in this set. While not as glamorous as their flying counterparts, the contribution played by trucks, tractors, and vans, as well as the men that crewed them, cannot be forgotten, or underestimated. · Standard Light Utility Vehicle - Standard 12hp 4x2 'Tilly'· Bedford Truck build as either MWC or MWD· David Brown VIG1 Tractor/Tug· Motorcycle - 500CC· Maintenance Tower· Bowser - 450 Gallon· Bomb Trolley - Type C· Bomb Trolley - Type F· Small Bomb Container (SBC) - with 4lb incendiaries· MC Bomb - 1000lb· Bomb - 8000lb· Ladder, Bike, Chocks and Fuel Cans Scalemates.com has a listing that shows this is a 2013 new tooling and provides a link to download the complete 16-page full-color Instruction Set and Painting Guide. They also give us plenty of links to a review, aftermarket parts and project galleries to inspire your build. The wonderful Cookie Sewell did an enthusiastic First Look Review on the missing-lynx.com site, in which he confesses his soft spot for Airfix kits. He describes each of the vehicles and background objects and outlines the handy features provided. He also lists the complete parts count for all of the items included. He closes the review with: “Overall this is a very nicely done set with a great deal of flexibility.” Geoff Coughlin presented an interesting In-Box Review on the scalemodellingnow.com site. We get a dozen photos of the parts on the sprues, the box, the decals and instructions. He was quite excited by the diorama possibilities made possible by this diverse set of vehicles and weapons. At one point, he said: “The range of vehicles is realistic and ideal to allow you to interchange and mix up your display using different combinations of the types on show.” Al Magnus published a detailed Build Review on the onthewaymodels.com site for just the David Brown VIG1 tractor contained in this set. There are also links to Build Reviews of the Bedford Truck and Standard Tilly, as well. He gives a short history of the tractor and shows the instructions for this vehicle. He came up with a list of construction notes, since he did some scratch-building. His full Conclusion was: “This a very nice kit from Airfix. Detailed enough to be made straight from the box, it can be made into a really detailed example with just a bit more work. Highly recommended.” Model Nerd posted a nine-minute Build Video on YouTube that starts with a standard unboxing review of the parts. He builds everything but you don’t get to see each step. The items don’t get painted in this video, but they still look pretty good naked. This kit is in a colorful, end-opening box about 14.5” x 7.5” x 2.5”. If you look closely, you will spot the typo in the title on the box (WII RAF instead of WWII RAF). As you can see from the pictures, the package is in excellent shape and still sealed with tape squares, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains a set of injection molded plastic model kits of aircraft support vehicles and equipment with almost 200 detailed plastic parts, a set of Cartograf decals and more. It requires cement and paint to complete as shown. I use eBay Managed Payments, but I no longer ship internationally. Auction winner pays winning bid and for a limited time, this handy item is offered with $8 Flat Rate Shipping in the US! No reserve and a low starting bid. Check out my other great auctions and listings for combined shipping. Good luck! Those familiar with my listings can tell that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye toward building them when I had time. Always a bargain-hunter, I accumulated many more than I can build, so I found myself in a Collector status (sounds nicer than a hoarder). As I am sure you have noticed, my items are almost always sealed and in mint condition (I call them Gift-Ready), since I only open them when I am ready to build them. Now I enjoy making these products available to my fellow modelers; both Builders and Collectors. For the Builders, there are probably better (at least cheaper) ways to add to your project lists than buying from me, but you know you are getting top quality. For Collectors, my goal is to save you a few bucks over the competition for the same item in factory sealed and collectible (or resellable) condition.
