Description: Custom model of the Yakolev Yak-15 soviet jet fighter plane. The first Russian jet fighter, the Yak-15 was essentially the airframe of their successful Yak-3 WW2 propellor fighter, fitted with a jet engine replacing the standard V-12 piston engine. Jet engines used were initially captured German Jumo turbojets and later Russian built engines. The plane may have been a bit of a stop-gap effort, but it gave the Red airforce its introduction into the jet age. This item is a scale model collectors item to be handled and unpacked with care, not a childs toy to be played with! Has small and sharp parts that could be dangerous or break off if mishandled.
