Description: This polyester filter screen replacement element is for use with Rusco and Vu-Flow 2" Spin Down filter systems. The 2" measurement refers to the port size of the filter system itself and is not a measurement of this filter element. This element fits systems with a 2" port size (where the PVC body of the filter is attached to the installation pipes). The element itself measures 10" x 1-7/8". Polyester mesh filters are: Reusable Washable Resistant to bacteria growth Availabile in a wide range of micron sizes Polyester filter elements are to be used in applications with a maximum water temperate of 120F. For applications with higher water temperatures a stainless steel element is advised (sold separately). Use the drop-down menu to select a mesh size to meet your particular requirements. The information below notes general guidelines for mesh selection as provided by the manufacturer. Actual performance can vary due to variations in shape, size and specific gravity of the materials being filtered. To filter water for: Shale, shell or debris: use 24 mesh (for general use purposes) Pipe scale or coarse sand: use 60 mesh (good for sprinkler systems, sand sensitive valves) Fine sand or grit from new wells: use 100 or 140 mesh (good for drip irrigation, sand sensitive valves) Very fine sand and grit: use 250 or 500 mesh (good for pre-treatment) Very fine sand and grit: use 1000 mesh (good for pre-treatment, R.O., Ultra water systems) In general, use the coarsest screen deemed necessary to filter the material you want removed. This will result in longer runs between blow-downs.
