Description: These SIMULATED 12mm x 8mm London blue topaz crystals have a gorgeous color. They are faceted and polished. They have a fabulous blue saturation. These are a hydro quartz and the color is almost perfect to a real london blue topaz. I typically only sell natural earth gemstones, but I found a few really nice simulants at a gem show that would typically not be created in a genuine gemstone, or with something like london topaz that would be extremely expensive in this size but is super pretty in a simulant. Natural London blue topaz is harder to find, and when one is found that is a natural topaz it is not very large in size. In order to get this color blue, the topaz must also undergo a different type of heat treatment than other blue topaz, such as swiss and sky. London blue topaz is real topaz, although it undergoes heat and irradiation to give it its deep blue color. These earrings are approximately 1" drop including the ear hooks The earring hooks are our petite set at 15.5mm factory stamped 14k. Wire and ball are top quality gold fill.
