11in Japanese Style Sashimi Knife 34 Layers Damascus Steel VG10 Sushi Wood/Horn

Description: Note: This is a one-side-sharp knife. Pretty normal for sashimi knives I think, but still worth pointing out since it's not readily obvious in the photos. I sell a lot of open box items that are overstock or unused returns... this particular item was a still-sealed (aka brand new) return that I bought for one of my sons because he likes Japanese kitchen knives. Unfortunately, he said he has no use for an enormous 11" sashimi knife so now I'm selling it. It has been opened and washed, and I can tell you straight away that it's alarmingly sharp. And that it's absolutely gorgeous. It looks just as good or better than in the promotional pictures. The last few images are photos I took of the actual item for sale. Two minor notes:1. There is a very light coat of polyurethane (or similar sealant) on the outside of the wooden case. There is a small spot on the back where it looks like there was a drip in the finish and it was scraped/sanded. I've included a picture of this.2. This is a Japanese-style knife, but the country of origin is listed as China. I can't tell you if it was made by Japanese artisans who live in China, or if it was made by a machine in a factory. I'm guessing the kind of people who would care about this probably don't buy "cheap" sub-$300 knives but I still thought I'd point it out just so we're clear.
